Inspired by my last two posts, I made another survey. It's about whether aromanticism and asexuality are inherently marginalized identities and to what extent aros and aces belong in the LGBT+ community. Don't take it if you're both allo/zedromantic and allo/zedsexual. All aros and aces are welcome, though.
hi, i just took your survey and i was wondering if i could provide some feedback? there was one question in particular that was impossible for me to answer because my answer was not an option. i am greyromantic and bi. since im not aromantic but just on the aromantic spectrum, i still feel romantic attraction towards multiple genders. as a result i wasn't able to properly answer the question asking me if i experienced either: sexual attraction to the same gender, romantic attraction to the same gender, or neither. for me the only correct answer would have been 'both,' since me being grayromantic and bi means i still feel romantic attraction to the same gender, just very rarely, in addition to sexual attraction. having to choose to answer only one of them felt extremely limiting, and not truthful to my orientation.
ReplyDeletei'm not sure if anyone else has messaged you about this, but i feel like it's an issue that other people who fall on the aromantic spectrum but aren't completely aromantic might have had answering that question.
otherwise a good survey, it's just that question that gave me trouble (i ended up answering the question with 'experience same gender sexual attraction' as i wasn't aware we could skip questions. just letting you know in case it affects the results in any way its not meant to).
Hi Isabelle! I'm grayromantic and bisexual, and when I took the survey I clicked 'yes, sexually'. You did fine. Also please don't skip questions.
DeleteI also had issues with one question, I am grey aro ace, and sometimes I feel attraction towards my gender, both sexual and romantic, (though usually not at the same time) and while I chose 'romantic' in the survey there was no option for me.
ReplyDeleteThen pick either sexual or romantic
